Following his speech, speakers included Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor of the Bangladesh Bank, Nazrul Huda, Deputy Governor of the Bangladesh Bank, Catherine Martin, Senior Private Sector Development Advisor at DFID, and Ian Crosby, Manager of IFC Advisory Services in Bangladesh, explained the many benefits and impacts of the project and how it will begin to change lives in Bangladesh. Topics also discussed throughout the event included the modernization of the financial sector after the CIB launch, how the online services will guarantee a quick disbursement of credit and help to reduce the cost of doing business, as well as the role of access to credit as a key part of the development of the country.
Then Dr. Rahman presented on the main screen the new system to the audience, he logged in to navigate the system and gave a live demo. The event ended with a ceremonial signature with one of the local banks.
