The CRIF Personal Solutions team held an online workshop on the topic of phishing for students at the Silva - Ricci Senior High School in Legnago, near Verona.
The workshop, which involved around 200 students, confirmed CRIF’s commitment to financial education, and forms part of the educational activities of Mister Credit, CRIF’s consumer brand, aiming to raising awareness about phishing among both young people and adults.
A game to learn how to recognize online threats
The workshop, which was held remotely, featured CyberNinja, the free interactive game dedicated to the subject of network security. Students were put to the test and learned how to recognize phishing e-mails and websites, with the simulation of real-life situations where they could be victims of phishing scams.
CRIF Cyber Observatory data
The workshop also provided the opportunity to delve into the topic of cyber threats. Beatrice Rubini, Executive Director of CRIF, presented data from the latest CRIF Cyber Observatory and explained how stolen information and data combinations can be used by cybercriminals to commit various kinds of fraud.
An opportunity to reflect and discuss
At the end of the game, the results and student rankings were discussed with the students, as well as their previous experiences with phishing e-mails, SMS texts or messages. The students were then invited to fill out a survey to assess their enjoyment of the game and activity, as well as their knowledge of phishing.
Mister Credit’s commitment
By meeting young people directly in their own environment, CRIF is able to break down the barrier of social networks and establish an open dialog on the topic of online security. Through the CyberNinja game, students are involved in an interactive experience that helps them recognize and fend off cyber threats in a fun and engaging way.
