On September 23-24, 2015 in Iloilo City, Philippines, CRIF took part in the Asia-Pacific Financial Forum on Lending Infrastructures for SMEs, organized by CIC with the support of IFC and ABAC.
CRIF experts provided an overview of the value of credit bureaus in the analysis of SME credit risk. In particular, CRIF focused on case studies from international best practice to show the audience, composed primarily of rural and cooperative banks, how to combine data, analytics, and decisioning systems to make informed decisions on credit risk management.
CRIF also analyzed the role of credit scoring, especially in terms of the evaluation of SMEs in economies where a credit bureau has recently been introduced, and how such scoring can help calibrate a financial institution's strategies at different stages of the credit cycle.
