Collection and credit risk professionals belonging to financial institutions, telecommunications and utility companies, and debt collection specialists, coming from all over the continent, contributed to two days of debate, presenting case studies, best practices and analyses.

Valeria Gubellini, Director of CRIF COL-CRIBIS Teleservice, which provides outsourced debt collection services for leading Italian credit institutions, spoke at the conference, presenting an overview of the Italian collection market, focusing on the increasingly important topics of reputation protection and the relationship with consumers. In particular, Valeria Gubellini and Stefano Locati, Manager of the Credit Collection Operations Department at UniCredit, presented the “co-sourcing”project developed by CRIF COL and UniCredit. Through the synergy and flexibility of the collaboration between the financial institution and outsourcer, the project led to the overall improvement in collection performance. During the presentation, the subject of People Satisfaction was also looked at in detail as a strategy for achieving an improvement in collection results through better working conditions.

As part of the event, Ubaldo Tambini, Business & Analytics Consulting Director at CRIF Decision Solutions, took part in a round table, contributing CRIF Decision Solutions' collection expertise and knowledge, both in terms of planning as well as processes and systems. Mr. Tambini spoke specifically about the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) market scenario in Italy, the use of credit bureau information in collection, and the key factors which, in Europe, guide organizations toward the strategic decision of whether or not to outsource collection activities, as well as the choice of outsourcer.
