The premise on which CMMI is based is that the quality of software depends very much on the quality of the process used for its development. In this respect, CMMI addresses not only the activities linked to software engineering, but also the disciplines of project management and process support and management, aiming to enhance the maturity of the organization and the production capacity of the people that work there.
“We decided to adopt the CMMI model in order to assure our clients of the quality and consistency of the products and services which we develop for them” - explained Davide Raitano, Director of IT Solutions who is responsible for software development at CRIF - “We are now faced with a global market, which compels us to replicate the success of our projects on a large scale in countries which are always different and with diverse people. At the same time we have to improve our productivity because the competition in this sector is now very strong. Matching quality, productivity and attention to client needs is possible only in an organization which is continually dedicated to improving and standardizing its development processes. This certification represents the recognition of our achievement”.
