September 21 - 24, 2020

This year, CRIFBÜRGEL organized a webinar series for the first time. This free online event, known as CRIFBÜRGEL Credit Management Week, ran from September 21 to 24. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year the event, which took place in person in Essen last year, was offered exclusively in virtual format.

Running from Monday to Thursday, two webinars on current topics were held every day. In total, more than 70 customers and Credit Management representatives participated in the eight webinars.

The webinar series started on Monday morning with a presentation by Dr. Sebastian Schnelle, Head of Data Science at CRIF Bürgel GmbH, on the topic "Effects of the Coronavirus Crisis on the German Economy - What we already know and what we don't know". In the afternoon, the series continued with our colleagues Katharina Elsner and Philipp Matejcek from CRIF Credit Solutions GmbH, who reported on the possibilities of managing unforeseeable risks at short notice.

Tuesday started with a presentation by Michael Larche, Head of Sales at Echobot Media Technologies GmbH. Michael Larche demonstrated in a very practical way how web monitoring can be used to identify debtor risks at an early stage through artificial intelligence. In the afternoon, Katharina Elsner and Philipp Matejcek from CRIF Credit Solutions GmbH followed on from the morning session and presented how the software solution CREDITY can provide support, and how automation, machine learning and credit managers can ultimately become a smart team.

Wednesday started with an international perspective: Felix Delbrück, Country Risk Service Director at The Economist Intelligence Unit, gave interesting insights into different country risks and the impact of the current economic situation on individual countries in an international comparison. In the afternoon, Torsten Woelke (Euler Hermes Germany) continued with a presentation on the possible impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the credit and risk management in companies.

On the last day of the webinar series, the coronavirus pandemic was again the topic of discussion. Dr. Gösta Jamin of www.bankenscore.de gave an outlook on the possible challenges of a return to normality after the pandemic. On Thursday afternoon, our webinar series ended with a highlight: Jan Schneider-Maessen, board member of the Federal Association of Credit Management e.V., presented their current study results on the COVID-19 pandemic in the current credit management practice as part of the event.
