The annual award is given by MERCURIO, the Italian-German economic association, to companies who have stood out for their contribution to both the economic and cultural relationships between Italy and Germany in the last twelve months.

CRIF S.p.A. received special mention for its “international cooperation in the credit sector”. In February, CRIF concluded its acquisition of the Bürgel group, one of the leading German companies specializing in business information, previously owned by the credit insurance giant Euler Hermes and the financial services provider EOS. With this transaction, CRIF strengthened its presence in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and consolidated its global expansion strategy, which now sees it operating in more than 50 countries.

Eckart Petzold, Chairman of MERCURIO, congratulated the Stevanato Group - the winner of the Award - and the companies he gave a special mention to: “This year's recognitions are proof of the strong integration of the production systems of the two countries. What's more, they show a renewed desire for Italian companies to invest in Germany”.

Pietro Benassi, the Italian Ambassador in Germany, stated, “In the current EU context, economic and cultural relationships between Germany and Italy are a certainty. Companies that invest across borders are rewarded because they create employment and bring new ideas to their sectors. The companies recognized this year also add prestige to the Made in Italy brand”.
