Among a fantastic line-up of speakers and leaders, one of the highlights was the speech given by Dr. Abdullah Ensour, the Prime Minister of Jordan, who explained how the first credit bureau would enhance the country's performance in the International Doing-Business report issued by the IFC and improve Jordan’s image in the credit market.

Dr. Ziad Fariz, the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) cited several projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of Jordan’s banking system and explained how the credit bureau will be a quantum leap in the banking system, bringing significant advantages in the decision-making process to Jordan’s financial institutions and lending organizations.

To conclude, Mr. Ahmad Amoudi, the General Manager of CRIF Jordan, presented the credit bureau project and explained how positive and negative credit information on individuals and businesses provided by banks, financial institutions, microfinance organizations, insurance companies, telco and service providers will be centralized and aggregated. He explained, “CRIF is very proud of the achievements accomplished, and that the agreed deadline was met. As the first credit bureau in the Middle East region, we are confident that significant advantages will be provided to the whole of Jordan’s economic system, supporting the financial needs of businesses and consumers.”
